I’m not usually one for romance novels so it took me a few
chapters to get into this one but it was definitely worth the effort. I enjoyed
how the action kicked off straight away with Emma having separated from Jordyn
and trying to escape the ravenous tabloids while fielding judgemental phone
calls from her mother. I like dhow much depth of character Emma had and she
wasn’t made out to be just another perfect celebrity as we can clearly see by
her first meeting with Shane.
We got to see quite a bit of character development from Shane
as the book progressed and it was nice to see him working through his issues to
better himself and his life. I don’t want to go into specifics and discuss
certain passages as the book is released tomorrow (2nd February 2021)
and I’d like you to be able to experience them first hand, but I will say that
this book is definitely a new take on the traditional bucket list. The way Geer
uses it to steer her story and slowly yet realistically build up the
relationship between Shane and Emma is very skilful and definitely one of the
highlights of the book for me.
Whether you’re an avid reader of the genre or not there’s
definitely aspects of The List that you will enjoy, even if it’s just the fact
that it isn’t you’re simple straightforward romance novel.
